I assume it's a spinning rod?
I would use SVSG style for the first 3 and then use the NSG style to the tip.
Sizes would depend on reel & line and with any knots like for a shock leader but most likely I would think a #30 for the biggest then #20, #16, and the rest would be as small as I could get away with.

pencil popper surf rod

HI, yall
  I'm new to this site and this is my first post.
I've been asked to build a surf rod for pencil poppers and need some help with guide selection. out here on the west coast we dont do much of that kind of fishing and I have
never set up a rod like that. my freind has brought me a
CUI blank f-120 we are going to cut it to 10'6" long. can
any one sugest what kind of guides and sizes I should be
using
