Sandy's Dragon Weave

I started to build a rod about 7 months ago and have only just finished a weave of a dragon that I created on Pictoweave. Here is the first picture of work in progress.

This rod will be my first completed rod ever and after I have posted pictures of the finished product I will then be posting pictures of my first catch on the rod. Roll Eyes

This weave is 89 design threads and 177 wraps, the design thread was a size A metallic and the wrap thread was a Maderia which is aslo a size A.  The next one I do I will surely be using a size C in the wrap thread and hopefull aim for more defined detail in the weave.

Thanks Charlie that means a lot coming from such a talent as yourself. I already have my next dragon ready to go and it turns out it is one you have already done as well. Got the picture of the internet and have made the graph with Pictoweave.

Boofa on this one I did not use the Wonder Weave, just a couple of sets of combs, the next one will be done on the WW though as it is a lot bigger and has I think about 7 colours. Owen has used the WW and found it to be very helpfully.
Not sure if you are aware but there is now 2 different types of wonder weaves that Jim Upton has put out, we don't have the rolls royce of the two but not knowing what the RR is like to drive I don't feel we are not missing anything.

Well Sandy you have gone to the darkside(ie dragon folks) LOL  Kidding aside.  Your work is superb.  You are giving notice to the weaving community.  The Women are coming.   You got something to be proud of.

Charlie's dragon weaves have always been an insperation for me and seeing yours Sandy was the push I needed to give them a go myself.

After quite a bit of frustration with color changes I had to go "back to the basics" with this single color pattern that thanks to the recent contest I was able to download. I truely learned some good lessons by doing this pattern with all of the right & left changes back & forth. Already posted a photo in the competition entry catagory but it's only fitting I add it here as well.

Thank You Charlie & Sandy!  Cheesy
