When you have a 4 layer patteren and you change colors how do you know which color goes above or below when you are making a color change? taking a thread from the left to right and a thread from right to left.
Hope it makes sence.

It really doesn't matter as long as you do it the same way each time.
I remove the color that is being taken out (left jig) and either drop it in front or lay it over the blank away from me (once I start doing it either way I continue the same way) then take the new color out of the right jig, place it in the left jig then put the old color in the right jig.

I do the same each time I take a thread on the left I put it to the back of the blank (away from me) take the replacement thread from the right, give it a tug and bring it over then take the other thread tug and place on right side.  Just don't do what I have done and forget to bring the replaced thread over and not realise this till later.   Undecided
