About colors

The colors depicted in PicToWeave are an approximation of the color of the actual threads described.

Due to differences in the color palette used for screen colors and those used by printers, the final result may vary considerably from what is depicted on screen.

PicToWeave uses a hexadecimal number to represent a particular color and assigns a color name to it to represent an individual thread marketed by an thread manufacturer.

Each color in PicToWeave must be unique.  For this reason, for example if three thread manufacturers all market a "white" thread, only one can be displayed as pure white.  The others must have a minor tint in order to ensure they are unique.  These differences in practice are so small as to be unnoticeable to the human eye.
