PicToWeave is NOT a graphics manipulation tool.

All cropping, re sizing and other manipulation of any graphic images should be carried out in a program designed for the purpose.

PicToWeave will resize the image to fit the specified grid size and allow minor adjustments of the position, however best results are obtained by proper preparation of the background image before importation into PicToWeave.

PicToWeave does not "fill in" the grid based on the colors of the background.

We believe that given the limited number of colors available with thread and the millions of colors which make up a picture, that the end result of such a feature either requires too much manual correction, or produces such complex weave patterns that it is not to worthwhile.

A piece of software cannot make you an artist!

You must understand your medium (in this case thread) and create designs which take into consideration the limitations of both that medium and the ability of the person doing the weave.

A good example is the icons on your computer desktop. Most are made up of a grid 32 x 32 pixels and are limited to 256 colors, yet the level of detail that can display is amazing.
